Kichaka is such a gem. It feels as remote as a camp in the middle of the Mara but is so much more accessible, warm, and comfortable. The hosts Tricia and Pete add to this warmth, from the communication before arrival, to Pete’s thoughtful guided tour of the camp on arrival, to Tricia’s geniality and the amazing staff’s impeccable service. The camp itself is beautiful with a fully equipped kitchen and dining area that won us over with its open plan design ensconced in nature. The rooms are cozy and to our surprise just as Pete informed us, no mosquitoes! You have to take a dip in the pool and sun bask in the afternoon Bisil sun. The evening bonfire was the cherry on top as we gazed at the stars. We’ll definitely be back.

Kichaka is a quiet gem tucked neatly away in the midst of the canopies of acacia trees. You may think it is isolated, but it actually easily accessible. We had an easy time locating the place.
Tricia and Peter are the perfect hosts who make you feel like you are home away from home. They are superb in their communication, and the Kichaka team is very friendly, helpful, and amiable.
There are many activities to do for those who love the outdoors, so make sure to bring along your adventurous spirit! The night sky is also so beautiful- It seemed like the carpet of stars was laid out specially for us!
During our stay, we went on a hike that presented breathtaking scenery.
Our experience on ground superseded our expectations based on what we had read. We will definitely be going back to Kichaka when we need to recharge, and just be.

The kitchen and sleeping arrangements were superior! We had excellent knowledge of our surroundings and the place within minutes after Peter briefed us. Both hosts were very friendly and accommodating. Their local guide Daniel was quite knowledgeable and good fun to be around during daily activities.

Amazing out of the bush experience just a few hrs from Nairobi. Quite accessible although preferred to have a car with good clearance for last bit, mostly for when it rains. Host also very communicative and supportive

Beautiful camp in a great location- We had a brilliant weekend at Kichaka Glamping. The luxurious tents are great, very nicely decorated and new, big comfy bed, and lovely outdoor shower with plenty of hot water. The location is fantastic, it’s a real wilderness experience with some good hiking opportunities. There is an excellent swimming pool and fantastic kitchen facilities. I would highly recommend for a weekend or more, we received a very warm welcome and the camp is perfectly located from Nairobi on a good and quiet road.

It is GLAMPING done extremely well! Very clean space, beautiful outdoor showers, a perfect evening fire, great kitchen with just about everything you need. The team is very helpful, cheerful and really do a great job at making you feel at home. Take time to take the hike out back, the view at the top is extremely worth it!

We had such a lovely stay here camping with our family. We wished we had planned for longer. It is quiet and incredibly comfortable (fantastic facilities for bathrooms and cooking) and even has a beautiful pool. Hosts Tricia and Peter are really welcoming and went out of their way to make us feel at home.

Fantastic!! 

Spent a wonderful couple of days at Kichaka Glamping and left feeling so refreshed and relaxed! This was our first glamping experience and Kichaka did not disappoint. The tents are very and comfortable and we loved the open air bathrooms and were impressed by the powerful, hot showers. The main area is great with all the amenities for meal prep, cooking and relaxing. We spent a lot of time by the lovely pool, played some croquet and also took advantage of the hikes guided by Daniel who is excellent! Really recommend those hikes! Tricia and Pete are fabulous hosts and made sure we were very comfortable and on hand for anything. I highly recommend this camp especially as it’s an easy drive from Nairobi and can be a weekend trip or longer! We didn’t want to leave! Thanks for an amazing stay!

Kichaka camp is a beautiful…peaceful … nature lover’s spot. The camp is surrounded by the kichaka (bush)…with views of hills..grass…trees and more. Birds are plenty… chirping all through the day and early morn. Impala..grants antelope…warthogs… tortoises..porcupine….squirrels…. lesser kudu are some of the many animals we actually saw. At night…you hear the hyenas nearby and see their tracks during the day. Tricia, Pete and their team on the ground are wonderful people. They make you feel at home pronto!! You can take a walk around the camp and up a nearby hill…get to see the bee hives on the ground…nearby shamba and watch your hours fly past fast. Accommodation is plenty and cleanliness is adhered to. Kichaka is an awesome spot. I highly reccomend it to everyone. We shall be back. Asante sana Tricia and Pete

Luxury camping in a stunning location
Kichaka camp is fantastic – a beautiful remote, rural location, but with all the amenities you could need. The tents are high quality – comfortable beds and fantastic outdoor bathrooms (with steaming hot showers). Walking, biking, horse riding and swimming are all at hand. A highlight for us was the pizza oven! Tricia, Pete and their team are excellent hosts, very friendly and communicative, and on hand to help with anything we needed. We definitely plan to return!

Simply Stunning –
Wow what a beautiful place. 5 star glamping with all the amenities you need to have a great holiday. Beautiful grounds, swimming pool and bbq area. Especially loved the outdoor shower and bathroom. Hiking to the top of the mountain to find a fabulous view waiting was also a highlight. The owners Tricia and Peter went above and beyond to make our stay extremely comfortable and magical. A secret gem of a place.

We were totally spoilt at Kichaka camp. Relaxed by the pool, played croquet and particularly enjoyed the spectacular views while walking in the hills. The tents were nicely designed and decorated and we had an amazing stay at the camp and would highly recommend this special place to friends and family.

Our group of 3 families had a wonderful time at Tricia and Peter’s house! The pool is perfect for families – with a small pool that’s easy for kids and a larger pool, with both a regular depth and a deep end. The common spaces are absolutely relaxing, the tents and washrooms were in excellent condition with thoughtful touches, and Daniel was so helpful lighting the BBQ & campfire and guiding us on a hike!

Our trip to Kichaka was amazing. The place, the hospitality and kindness of the hosts made our holidays’ time wonderful. Those tented camp are clean, nice and cosy. The main bandas is the perfect spot to relax and chill or to host long dinners with friends. I highly recommend Kichaka and for sure we will come again soon!

Tricia & Peter were AMAZING hosts. We loved our time at Kichaka. “Glamping” is the perfect word to describe the experience: close to nature with amazing star-gazing, a HUGE campfire, hiking trails, and some game. But, also a lovely swimming pool, fully-stocked kitchen, electricity nearby to charge phones, and hot showers 24-7. We highly recommend this for a short weekend trip (an easy drive from Nairobi), a spot for visitors from out of country, and a great place for families.

A piece of heaven only 2hrs from Nairobi

If you love the idea of being off the grid, camping and at one with nature, but want some luxury too, this place is for you! It certainly was for us! We visited as a family with a 5yr old and it was truly magical. The peacefulness is the first impression- as we stepped out the car we suddenly felt the pressures of life melt away. Tricia and Pete were there to welcome us with their warmth, kindness and humour, making us feel instantly at home and welcomed. The tents and stunning outdoor bathrooms are of the highest quality, sparkling clean, extremely comfortable and cozy. We slept like logs! The main room is a wide, open space, with huge, wall-hugging cushions, large dining table and fully equipped kitchen with gas cooker and oven. Despite being ‘off the grid’, we never felt inconvenienced. The water in the kitchen, bathrooms and showers was piping hot and at night a romantic bonfire was lit for us so we could sit out and look at the star-studded sky. During the day we swam in the crystal clear pool and jacuzzi, lounged by the pool, went for walks and treks, went horse-riding and got to stroke the little lambs. There is plenty of wildlife around- the birds being the noisiest and also bravest ones! There are different types of deer, mongoose, warthogs, camels, hyena (very timid and hard to spot) and Pete and Tricia can also show you thier bee keeping. Kichaka Glamping is highly recommended and we will most definitely return.

The camp was the perfect mix of being close to nature but with all the comforts and amenities you could possibly need, including a lovely swimming pool. It’s a truly beautiful area and would highly recommend hiking in the hills behind the camp with Daniel their guide, and we had great fun exploring on our mountain bikes. The place was everything advertised and MORE! Amazing hosts, location, amenities and gorgeous rooms. We stayed three nights, I would have loved to stay four! We went for a day trip to Amboseli (easily done) and also enjoyed a really relaxing day at Kichaka, going for a lovely walk then relaxing by the pool. Excellent value for money, a must to stay here! You will love it here!

All, if you are looking for peace, beauty, laughter, warmth, comfort in a serene, natural environment with great hosts, what are you waiting for?! What else….Try the Kichaka natural honey made right at home, take a tour in their beautiful nursery, tour Bisil town and also get to know the history of Bisil, listen to the sound of hyenas in the evening, hike a mountain right behind the camp and if you are lucky you get to see Mt Kilimanjaro!! A Very Special Place

Every now and then, you go to a place that touches your heart. Tricia and Pete couldn’t be kinder or more attentive if they tried. The setting is so exquisite that I found it very difficult to leave. I loved the deluxe tents and all the comforts they provided. The bush walking, game viewing and morning climb up the hill are all special memories of this very special place.. I will return 😎

We stayed at Kichaka tented camp for 4 nights and had the most relaxing, comfortable and wonderful stay. Kichaka is extremely well set up, and glamping at it’s best. The attention to detail is unflawed and similar to that of a luxury lodge. Having stayed in over 50 Airbnbs in 20 countries spread over 4 different continents, we can confidently say that Kichacha is one of the most unique places in the world; your own private safari camp, very well equipped, with simple luxuries and at a very reasonable cost. There are a number of places to relax and enjoy sundowners, and we loved the evening campfire, the chilling areas, the BBQ and the open air shower. We had a brilliant time, explored the farm and roaming around the camp. Tricia & Pete, the hosts, were super helpful as we organised our trip and through out the stay. They even stayed up to 2am one night, after our car broke down in the middle Amboseli reserve. Would highly recommend a stay at Kichaka and we will be back again soon! Thanks a million Tricia & Pete

This place was amazing. The location was great, with lovely tents, a nice and clean swimming pool, and always a campfire lit at night. The hosts were very welcoming and thoughtful, offering us a lot of assistance throughout. The surroundings are nice as well, and Amboseli NP is easy to reach for a day trip.
